Oh? You can breath underwater? [It isn't a surprise, really, but it's a nice tidbit of information. It's a detail that aches and resonates in his chest.] You would be fond of Fontaine's waters. The scenery and sea life is quite nice to just watch under the depths.
[And while Kleken didn't know, Wriothesley basically reveals that tidbit. An ability he doesn't get to appreciate here so much without Fontaine's blessed waters.]
Hmm. I read an interesting detective novel recently. I've mostly been reading books about technology. There's a lot of things here I've never seen. [He recently learned how to hotwire a car...
Eventually they walk through the sand more towards the bungalows. The shaded porches is a nice reprieve from the beating "sun" this place decided to simulate.]
[ He probably knows how ridiculous of a statement that is. But the bit of amusement he has over his own lie is lost at Wriothesley's returning words, and specifically the implication behind them. That bit of information has him lighting up like a deep sea creature hunting for prey. ]
I'll simply have to hope for some chance to see them myself someday.
[ He doubts he ever will, but who knew what the future could hold. It would be Wriothesley's luck if Kleken were to suddenly pop up in Teyvat somehow, following him like the stray octo he was. ]
[ With the shade ahead spotted, he'll immediately begin heading for one of those porches, unsubtly pulling the taller man along as he goes. Please, he's going to dry out. ]
I hope there was a thrilling end to the novel. Though I'm rather surprised to hear there are books about technology here for leisurely reading.
It's surprisingly rare, I think. [Maybe not so rare back home, but there were also circumstances where Vision holders could only do so in Fontaine. It would be nice if it could be available everywhere though. He'd love to explore the depths of other nations if he ever left Fontaine.
He can only imagine that Kleken is pulling his leg.]
I think you'd like it. [It's fun to imagine seeing the man swim by the giant window into the ocean before properly entering the fortress. Kleken would truly be someone that just keeps showing up in his presence.
He laughs a little as he's tugged along.] There's a lot of books that aren't just shameless porn in the library. It's rather varied, actually.
How unfortunate for those who can't enjoy the sensation of submersion. But you're correct there... I'd like it very much.
[ Talk all he may, Kleken probably has far less experience in an actual ocean than Wriothesley does. The combination of a world dangerous to many outside most major cities was and being completely engulfed in the management of the Istvan Gang's affairs as Istvan's right hand man, he'd only been able to indulge here and there in some safer bodies of water. Not nearly enough for his greed to know more about the undersea world that ever calls to his attention like a siren. ]
[ So don't be startled at the speed in which he accepts an opportunity to drink in the waters of Fontaine. He will absolutely loiter around outside Wriothesley's office just to be a pest. ]
Hmm... you must tell me which sections you're reading in then. I'm afraid all I've been able to find are instructive manuals for positions I hadn't thought the human body capable of comfortably making.
How about we head to the library then? Unless you still want to play friendly with the lifeguards here. [While the siren call of the water is ever so present for Wriothesley, wanting nothing more than to down a cocktail and lay on the bottom of the water, he can tear himself away for a short while and browse the library with the other.]
Well, there's a lot of books like that too. You just have to dig around, but they do have books that aren't related to sex. We can go find some for you to read while you're here. Maybe they'll be good reads while lounging on the beach.
I'd much rather have a library outing than an avian one.
[ Kleken on his best days is an avid avoider of libraries. ]
[ Given his alleyway upbringing, it's hardly a surprise that he has a preference to collect information directly from someone's mouth, rather than from a page in a book. Add onto that the fact book knowledge wasn't often useful for gang negotiations and libraries were quite obviously a lost resource on him. ]
[ That didn't mean he never visited them. His favored way was just in the company of another to keep him entertained. And he most certainly was interested in seeing if he could get out of this area and into other places. ]
[Wriothesley holds his arm for Kleken to take.] Let's go then.
[Wriothesley isn't much of a library person himself, but he has been frequenting it a little more now with less to do during downtime. He quite misses the Fortress' ledgers and the finance reports hitting his desk honestly.
He smiles easily though.] Let's find a nice, quiet spot for the rest of our date, shall we?
[ Wonderful. He slips his arm around Wriothesley's, a tentacle extending itself from his sleeve to add another loop around the other's forearm. For extra security, of course. ]
Yes, let's.
[ Goodbye beautiful beach but terrible lifeguard, Kleken rather hopes one of you will be disappearing quite shortly and two guesses which one that is. ]
